Der Plastikmüll muss aus dem Meer, so schnell wie möglich, also bevor er durch die Brandung und die Reibung im Sand zu Mikroplastik zerrieben wird und in die Nahrungskette gelangt. Wir fischen den Müll ab und bauen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Winder Recycling Company in Davao aus zirka 30 Kilogramm Meeresmüll (meistens acht Säcke) stabile und langlebige Stühle für Schulen, die ideal ins tropische Klima passen, da die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit den Stühlen aus billigem Holz schnell zusetzt. Auch wenn die Stühle dringend gebraucht werden, ist der beste Weg kein Plastik zu produzieren. Inzwischen stehen unsere Stühle schon in drei Schulen: San Isidro, Monkayo und Mati.
